Upgrade Your Condominium

4 Signs It’s Time to Upgrade Your Condominium

Whether you’ve recently purchased a new cond0 or you’ve been living in the same one for years now, there may be some needed updates. However, it can be a little challenging to know exactly when it’s time to upgrade your condominium. But once you know what to look for, you can start making the necessary changes.

At Ascension General Contractors, we are here to help you from start to finish on your remodeling projects. Today, we’ve gathered some different things to look at when deciding if now is the right time to upgrade your condo. But, before you make any changes, be sure to check with your condominium board or HOA to be sure that the upgrades you have in mind are okay per their restrictions.

How Do I Know It’s Time to Upgrade My Condominium?

Lack of Space

A clear way that any homeowner can tell that a remodeling project is definitely needed is the lack of space they find in their home. While there are probably some restrictions on expansions for your condo, there are still plenty of ways to maximize space without adding on square footage. The best thing to do is to focus on maximizing the existing space. You can also check to see if you are allowed to remove walls and create a more open floor plan which can make a huge difference.

Worn Out Flooring

Over time your carpet will wear out and your hardwood may be scratched or start becoming noisy when walking across the room. If you look at your flooring and find this is the case, considering replacing it! Making this swap throughout your entire condo can really improve the overall appearance.

Dated Hardware or Fixtures

Your kitchen or bathroom hardware is a great indicator of what to expect in the rest of the house when it comes to potential buyers. However, whether you are planning to sell or not, improving the hardware and fixtures in your condo is a great way to upgrade! If you see that your faucets, light fixtures, or cabinet handles do not match the current times, then it is time to swap them out to match the more modern styles available and avoid them malfunctioning in the future.

Chipped or Faded Paint

Paint is one of the most popular remodeling projects that homeowners choose, and it’s not hard to guess why! Chipped or faded paint is a clear sign that your condo is past due for a new coat of paint. So consider adding a new coat to boost your home’s appeal!
