Remodeling Your Condominium

As you move forward into 2020 and all its promise, you may be looking around at your living spaces and considering making some changes that reflect the freshness and excitement of a new year and a new decade. If you live in a condominium, you will have a few limitations due to sharing walls with your neighbors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t implement some awesome changes that will add a freshness to the home of your dreams. Keep reading for tips on remodeling your condominium!

Color

  • A new coat of paint can make any room look like a brand new space, and in 2020 the sky’s the limit. You can let your imagination take flight and use colors in pairs that you might not have considered last year. Changing a wall color or treatment can open up and brighten your space, even if it is enclosed by interior walls. If you have an open concept kitchen, you may want to see consistency in your wall colors, but an exception to this rule will be an accent wall, such as your kitchen backsplash. A backsplash in your kitchen can act as an accent wall in your kitchen, as it will have limited wall space.

Lighting

  • Large pendant lights or chandeliers are popular options for those open spaces in your condo, such as the living area. A chandelier doesn’t have to be a large crystal piece – it often is simply a tiered light fixture that hangs from the ceiling. If you want to add an artistic touch to your condo, gallery walls can incorporate a ton of different sizes and shapes to create an art gallery installation vibe, while oversized mirrors are a trendy way to add interest to your living room and make it feel larger. You will have lots of choices here, and it should be easy to find a mirror that perfectly suits your personal taste and style.

Flooring

  • If you want to keep a classic design in your bathroom, tile flooring is the way to go. Just because it’s a traditional design doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Update a basic square tile floor by using a dark color to contrast the lighter walls. Hexagon tiles are another modern update to this traditional design. They come in a large variety of sizes and colors to create your desired look. Wood flooring is a great choice for your newly renovated areas, even your bath. Your floors will simply need an extra coat of varnish on them in this case as a protective layer from any extra moisture. If the idea of real hardwood floors in your bathroom makes you nervous due to possible water damage, there are faux wood options that can give you the same effect, and both laminate flooring and ceramic tile actually offer options that look like a real hardwood floor.
